Stepping backwards - alternate ("Step downs" Hip/knee extension strengthening, backward, toe tap)

Stand on a stair or step.
The leg left on the step will the one to be exercised.
Carefully bend one leg so you can tap the floor behind you with your other foot.
Return to the starting position by tensing your thigh and buttock muscles and straightening your stance leg again.
Repeat on the other leg.
