Starting position:
Lie on your back with head and arms relaxed but supported.
Assistant / therapist supports the head and manually moves the neck into a lateral glide in one direction and then in the opposite direction. The lateral glide should mean the upper neck is laterally flexed in one direction and the lower neck is laterally flexed in the opposite direction. Keep the other joints still. Alternate between these two positions.
The technique should be painless.
The movements should only be taken to the point where the patient begins to feel something.
