Sit in a chair with a walker in front of you.
Place both hands on the arms of the chair, bend your sound leg to bring your foot towards you, and bend forward at the hips.
Keep your head high and gaze straight.
Push through your sound leg to push up to a standing.
When you are upright and feel steady, place your hands on the handles of the walker.
To return to sitting step back until you feel the edge of the chair on the back of your legs.
Place one hand and then the other on the arms of the chair.
In a controlled manner, lower yourself back into a seated position.
