Sit on the edge of a chair and lean back to the backrest so that your upper body is tilted backwards approximately 45 degrees.
To avoid slipping on the floor ensure you have a stable base through your feet and that your chair is secure.
You can place cushions behind your back for comfort, if needed.
Hold a dumbbell in one hand with the arm relaxed by your side.
Keeping your elbow straight lift your arm up and over your head.
In a controlled manner lower your arm back to the starting position.
