Shoulder external rotation stretch in side lying

Lie on your back with arms by your sides and turn halfway towards your affected side.
Bend the affected side elbow so that your hand is against your stomach.
Keep your elbow in place and turn the affected arm outwards by moving the hand away from your body.
Gently help with your other hand by pushing the affected side hand further away towards the surface.
Hold for a moment and the bring the hand back to the starting position.
