Shoulder abduction with elbow bent - Finger on sternum

Shoulder abduction with elbow bent - Finger on sternum

Start in standing and place your index finger on your breastbone (the flat bone in the centre of your chest).
Keep your finger in place as you gently lift your breastbone up a few centimeters.
Maintain this position as you bend and lift the elbow of your other arm so that your hand points towards the ceiling, and your elbow points out to the side, slightly in front of you.
Then leading with your hand, lift your arm up in front of you as high as comfortable for you.
Return to the starting position and relax.
