Starting position:
Lie on your back with the affected leg in hip extension, abduction and external rotation and the knee flexed.
Assistant / therapist manually moves the ankle into dorsiflexion and foot eversion, and then into ankle plantarflexion and foot inversion. Keep the other joints still. Alternate between these two positions.
The technique should be painless.
The movements should only be taken to the point where the patient begins to feel something.
