You will need a roll of kinesiology tape for this technique.
Sit upright with the heel of your affected leg resting on the ground and your toes raised.
You will need to measure and cut three pieces of kinesiology tape for this technique.
Measure the first piece around the circumference of your big toe and then cut this in half along it’s length.
Trim off all the corners of all the pieces of kinesiology tape to form curved edges.
Apply around the circumference of your big toe under minimal tension.
Measure the second piece of tape from the nail bed of your big toe towards the inside of your heel.
Apply under a moderate stretch starting from the nail bed of your big toe towards the inside of your heel.
Measure a third piece of kinesiology tape from the outside of your affected foot to the top of your foot whilst travelling under your sole.
Apply under minimal stretch with tension traveling from the outside of your affected foot to the top of your foot whilst travelling under your sole.
Ensure the tape is smooth under the sole of your foot to prevent blistering.
Rub the kinesiology tape to ensure a good adhesion is achieved.
If successful, this technique should result in a small gap between your big toe and your second toe.
