Begin lying on the floor on your back, next to a chair.
First bend your legs with feet flat on the ground.
Drop your knees to one side and turn to that side into a side-lying position.
From the side-lying position, use your hands to push your upper body up in a side-sitting position.
From side-sitting, move onto your hands and knees.
Lift your forearms onto the seat of the chair for support.
Take support from the chair and move into a half-kneeling position by lifting one foot forwards and placing it flat on the floor.
Taking support from the chair seat, carefully push up to standing.
Sit on the chair until any dizziness, that may be produced by getting up, has time to pass.
