Lie on your back on your bed, as long as it is not too soft, or on the floor. Place a small rolled up towel under your upper arm, just above your elbow. Place a weight in your hand with your palm facing upwards. Allow the weight to straighten your elbow until you feel a stretch. Try to let your muscles relax and allow the weight to do the work.
Do not let your shoulder come up off the bed very much. You can place your unaffected hand on your shoulder and push the shoulder down towards the bed.
You should feel a gentle stretch but not severe pain.
