Start by sitting on the edge of your sofa or bed.
Stand up using your arms for support if needed.
Turn so that you are side on to your sofa or bed.
Take support as needed as you lower down to a high half-kneeling position with one knee on the floor and the opposite leg in front of you.
Move into a kneeling position and then lower yourself down onto all 4s.
Control yourself down onto your side and then roll onto your back.
To return to standing, first, roll onto your side and then push yourself up onto all 4s.
Then, rise into kneeling and hold on to the support as required.
Next, place one foot in front and move your weight forwards.
Push up and bring your rear leg next to the other as you stand, and then turn to sit on your sofa or bed using your arms for support if required.
